Where We Come From

"Home is a place you grow up wanting to leave and grow old wanting to get back to."

Wisconsin. Such a beautiful state. We are very proud to have grown up in such a place. Manawa, Wisconsin (aka Small Town USA) is filled with dairy farms, an annual Rodeo, a few stop signs, and a handful of our family members. Life is just a little slower here and that's the way we like it.

The friendliest cows in the state. At least, we think so.

We haven't lived in Wisconsin since college. Moving around is kind of our thing. Never in one place for too long. Whether it be for a job opportunities and just sheer spontaneity, we move. But, we always enjoy a trip back to the 920.

It's been a minute since we've been back, and we spared little expense when it came to enjoying what we missed most, our family and THE FOOD. Like, our #1 topic of go-to conversation starters is asking the person if they have ever tried fresh cheese curds. Have you?? They are so good! I mean, it's squeaky cheese for goodness sake!

Some other staples that is to never be missed out on are grilled brats and any potluck-style meal.

Family potlucks got us like... "take my pic with a brat"

Spending a few days with our entire family at one of our favorite places on earth, our Aunt's lake home in the North Woods, was pure heaven. There's always good food, great company and even better views.

Also, there is a cute little ice cream spot with lucky charms, sprinkles and marshmallow fluff flurries, sooo...

Now, the next place we went to, we have never been before. This may surprise you, because it's... Door County. *gasp*

We had a lot of fun going on a girls trip for the day, exploring all the shops and landmarks of the famous peninsula.

Dudes... there are goats on the roof.

The Wood Orchard Market was great because we didn't even have to stop for dinner after visiting. Our tummies were so full from all the free samples by the time we hit the checkout aisle!

More cheeses...

And Cherry Donuts...

When in Wisconsin, one must visit a brewery... We decided to make a pit stop at Island Orchard Cider and we enjoyed it with every sip of their delicious ciders.

If you ever get the chance to visit our beautiful state of birth, let us know where you end up!
