Freshwater Curated Goods is a women-owned lifestyle brand based in downtown Augusta, GA, creating handcrafted acrylic accessories, apparel, and custom-designed goods inspired by lakes, beaches, and the laid-back freshwater lifestyle. We’re growing, and we’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented team member to join our production department.
This role is perfect for a graphic designer who loves hands-on work, enjoys seeing designs come to life, and wants to be involved in the full creation process — from digital design to finished product.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As our Graphic Designer & Laser Production Specialist, you’ll create production-ready vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator and prepare files used for laser cutting and engraving. You’ll also be trained to operate our laser equipment to produce our products in-house, helping bring each design from concept to physical form.
This is an on-site position at our Augusta studio. A passion for design, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn production processes are a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create production-ready vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator for laser cutting and engraving.
- Prepare accurate, organized art files following our internal production standards.
- Work closely with the creative and production team to ensure artwork matches product specs.
- Operate and maintain laser machines (training provided).
- Assist with troubleshooting design or file issues related to laser output.
- Help with general product production tasks as needed (cutting, engraving, assembly).
- Manage digital file organization and maintain an efficient workflow.
- Collaborate on new product development and seasonal launches.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (advanced understanding of vector art required).
- Strong design fundamentals and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple files, projects, and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must have your own laptop/computer capable of running Illustrator efficiently.
- Must provide a portfolio or body of work when applying.
- Willingness to learn machine-based production (laser cutting/engraving).
- Comfortable working in a hands-on studio environment.
Nice-to-Haves (Not Required)
- Experience with laser cutting equipment (Glowforge, Thunder, Epilog, etc.).
- Interest in product design, acrylic materials, or small-batch manufacturing.
- Experience in a production, fabrication, or maker-studio environment.
